2321 Lackawanna FM Diesel (1954 - 1956) |

About This Diesel Engine
The 2321 Lackawanna FM Diesel was introduced by Lionel in 1954 and was sold for three years (through 1956). This FM (Fairbanks Morse) was produced in two color schemes -- one with a gray roof matching the sides, and a less common version with a maroon top matching the lower-side stripe. These units were also decorated with two yellow rubber-stamped stripes and the FM logo decals on the sides plus both ends. Ornamental horns and wire handrails served to further dress this locomotive. Maroon rubber-stamped lettering was used for identification.
