352 Icing Station (1955 - 1957) |
---|
About This Operating Accessory
The 352 Icing Station (also called the Ice Depot) was introduced by Lionel in 1955 and was sold for three years (through 1957). This accessory was produced in two color schemes -- one with a red base matching the roof, and an earlier, less common version with a brown base in contrast to its red roof. Both versions came with a white building. The accessory came with a special, orange 6352-1 PFE Ice Car, a 90C controller (momentary button) and at least five ice cubes, depending upon the year of production.

Additional Details
This unit, with its solenoid piston and plunger assembly, is one of the more
reliable accessories made by Lionel in the postwar era. In addition, because it requires the
operator to manually load the ice cubes into the chute and then manually unload the car, the
Ice Depot provides interactive "play-value" beyond many of the completely automatic accessories.
