---|
About This Motorized Unit
The 45 U.S. Marines Mobile Missile Launcher was introduced by Lionel in 1960 and was sold for three years (through 1962). This 8-wheel motorized unit came with a painted olive-drab body and was decorated with white heat-stamped lettering. A gray missile launcher on the left side behind the cab and a blue man sitting at a control panel are the other distinguishing features of this unit.

Additional Details
This motorized unit came with one non-operating coupler, Magnetraction, and a red light on top of the body. Four white missiles were provided with this interesting unit, which was designed to be used with the other space & military items produced by Lionel during the same era. Care should be given to how this item is handled and stored as the delicate front end and the ten steps (two on each front corner & three on each rear corner) are easily broken. The combination of those problems and the paint, which is susceptible to chipping, makes it hard to find this item in collector-quality condition.
