About This Work Caboose
The 6119 D. L. & W. (Delaware, Lackawanna & Western) Work Caboose was introduced by Lionel in 1955 and was sold for two years -- through 1956. The cab was a red molded plastic with "D. L. & W." and "6119" in white. The tool tray was the same color with no lettering. The frame was black with "LIONEL" in white. The 6119 also featured metal, bar-end trucks with one coupler.

Additional Details
The 6119 was a new style work caboose as compared to the previous Lionel
offerings. It reflected the manufacturer's trend towards less expensive and less detailed
products. For example, the 6119 came with a sheet metal frame (earlier work cabooses had
die-cast frames) and a large (very plain) tool tray (versus the detailed tool boxes on prior
models).
