About This Freight Car

The 6456-25 Gray Lehigh Valley Short Hopper was introduced by Lionel in 1954 and was only sold for two years (through 1955). The car is painted gray and has maroon lettering. Only "6456" can be found on the sides. The correct box, which is hard to find, has the "-25" suffix.

Additional Details

The 6456-25 gray LV hopper only came with metal, bar-end trucks. Care should be exercised when handling this car as the lettering is fragile and prone to being rubbed off.
