About This Freight Car
The 6464-225 Southern Pacific Boxcar was introduced by Lionel in 1954 and was sold for three years (through 1956). The SP boxcar was painted black and was decorated with white and yellow rubber-stamped lettering. The Southern Pacific emblem and other graphics also served to further dress this car. Variations include different body types and the use of two different paints (semi-gloss and flat).
