Flaws: front cover has tears & creases; spine is worn; back cover has writing & scrapes; last page has a couple of tears; rusty staples. A few imperfections but it is nice overall -- clean and complete! This the first blue 1946 manual we have ever had available for sale!

Flaws: front cover has a small crease plus some "chips" that allow the orange base to show through; stains; "aged" look throughout. The manual is complete and fairly clean throughout! Only the second green 1946 manual we have ever had available for sale!

Last version of the 1951 instruction manual: this 64-page document has a gray cover with blue printing and the back cover has an ad for a 32-page book called "The Romance of Model Railroading" which was available from Lionel's advertising department; includes a Lamp Replacement Chart on the inside of the back cover; the 1951-52 Service Station Listing is included as part of the manual on pages 53-64!

Flaws: insect nibbles; tears; stains; wavy; rusty staples. A few flaws but it does have all of the pages and it is fairly clean overall.

Flaws: creases, some dirt (mostly on the inside of the back cover), small tear on the bottom of one page, small stain on one page, staples rusty. It is complete and very nice.

This item was the second of two instruction manuals provided by Lionel in 1953 with the same graphics (but in different colors) carried over into 1954! It is somewhat harder to find compared to the first version which has a black and orange cover.

1947 "Lionel R.R. Guide" 9 Yes $ 45 A colorful wall poster containing a wealth of information on locomotives, rolling stock, and real railroad operations. The illustrations include both Prewar Lionel and Postwar Lionel engines, rolling stock and accessories. The poster is printed on one side in yellow, black and red ink on white paper and it measures 16 1/2 inches high by 10 1/2 inches wide.

Center section shows the following six locomotives: GG-1 Electric, Prairie-type Steamer, 0-4-0 Steam Switcher, Berkshire, Hudson and an S-2 Turbine.

The left side of the poster has a list of whistle signals and railroad lingo plus an explanation of scale and gauge.

The bottom of the poster illustrates the various positions of semaphore signals and block signals and provides the meaning of the different blade positions and light indications.

Some dirt in the folds from the factory creases and that's about it for flaws! It is very, very nice and it is also the first one we have ever had for sale!
1947 "Fun with Lionel Model Railroading" 9+ Yes $ 35 A 32-page booklet printed in red, black and white, it measures 8 1/2 inches by 5 3/8 inches. The booklet contains suggestions on layout design and lighting effects plus instructions how to play games based on real railroad practices and incidents.

Some rust on the staples and that's it for flaws! It is spectacular -- complete and clean.
1949 "Lionel Train
Layout Planning Book
for Pop"
8 Yes $ 15 A 16-page booklet printed in multiple colors on white paper, it measures 5 1/8 inches by 7 1/16 inches. It shows 15 different train layouts and had to be ordered from Lionel! Includes a nice illustration of a 726 Berkshire & 2426W Tender plus a listing of railroad whistle signals and a listing of the "Slang and Lingo of the Rails."
